Rapid Legionella pneumophila detection enables precision disinfection and follow-up by practitioners

Collaboration

Shock-chlorination or continuous disinfectant dosing often fails to keep L. pneumophila at bay in industrial water. Traditional cultivation-based methods can be biased and can take up to 10-14 days to get results. Therefore, data-based water microbiome management is currently very challenging.

rqmicro's immunomagnetic method allows for flow cytometry-based quantification and identification of Legionella pneumophila serogroups for various institutional, recreational and industrial water sources (including cooling towers and wastewater treatment plants)  and provide faster results while mitigating some of the biases of conventional methods. Together with Kytos' expertise in flow cytometry for microbiome management, we enable our customers to rely on reliable data-driven water management.

Leveraging rqmicro’s technology for rapid Legionella detection and Kytos microbiome monitoring tools, practitioners can optimize their water microbiome management, fine-tune their disinfection efficiency and track the source of L. pneumophila regrowth promptly to reduce risks and make water safer.

The rqmicro Legionella rapid test is available as a service in Kytos water microbiology laboratory.
